A Big Read Event

This event features four local illustrative artists to celebrate the vast artistic format of  graphic novels.  The opening reception takes place on Feb. 5, 5-7 p.m.  The show runs Feb. 5-Feb 27 and is free and open to the public.

The Graphic Novel Show will feature a number of different artists and will illustrate the vast medium that is graphic illustration.  This will have a detective mystery theme although not all art pieces will be detective pieces.

What are Graphic Novels?
“Graphic Novel” is a format, not a genre. Graphic novels can be fiction, non-fiction, history, fantasy, or anything in-between.  Graphic novels are similar to comic books because they use sequential art to tell a story. Unlike comic books, graphic novels are generally stand-alone stories with more complex plots. Collections of short stories that have been previously published as individual comic books are also considered graphic novels.
