Same Great Plays. Just Less Walking.
September 28 at 2:00 PM
Presented by The Matthews Opera House & Arts Center
What is Theater Running in Place?
Whether you missed out on the walking event or simply prefer a more relaxed setting, this performance brings the spirit of Theater on the Run to you, with no walking shoes required. Theater Running in Place offers the same lineup of five short plays, performed by local talent, but all under one roof! You’ll stay seated in the historic Matthews Opera House while the action unfolds on stage, with each one-act performance offering a fresh dose of comedy, drama, or surprise. It’s the perfect choice for anyone who prefers their theater without the trek.
What is Theater on the Run?
Theater on the Run is not your typical night at the theater. This progressive performance takes you through downtown Spearfish, where you’ll visit different local businesses. At each location, enjoy a short play performed by local actors—each with its own flair, humor, and drama. TOTR is a fun a unique way to experience theater, which has made it one of our most popular events each year. A limited number of tickets are available, and the event has quickly sold out since 2012, so make sure to get yours early. This event is one you won’t want to miss! Tickets are only sold in The Matthews Gallery or online and must be purchased in advance. The participating venues are NOT selling tickets.
Theater on the Run performances are September 20 & 27 at 6pm
