JD Fiedler Trio – performing July 18

1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
The JD Fielder Trio will be performing on the Watering Hole Stage 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. during The Matthews’s 38th Festival in the Park (Spearfish City Park).  This is a FREE event.

The JD Fiedler Trio consists of Black Hills musicians guitarist JD Fiedler who worked for Dick Clark Productions, extensive recording in the major studios of Hollywood, CA and touring with major acts of the ’60s era; Ray Keller, fluent crossover drummer who has opened for Joan Jett, The Doobie Brothers, Alice Cooper, Willams and Ree, and Kenny Rogers; and bassist Robert DeMangus who attended a performance arts high school, Las Vegas Academy, as a jazz music major who now lives in the Black Hills and is a singer-songwriter and an aspiring visual artist.

The trio will perform a variety of instrumental selections from the Great American Songbook in the style of the jazz greats Joe Pass, Jim Hall, and Wes Montgomery, and music from post-World War II era when big bands broke into small combo groups.  “It’s the music of the ‘30s, ’40s, ‘50s… those timeless classics we’ve all heard,” says Fiedler, whose father was a well-known musician and his uncle was a Big Band singer.
