DESCRIPTION:Ticket sales open August 18 at 10 am. This will be strictly enforced. Tickets sell out quickly\, and we want to ensure every patron has an equal opportunity to get theirs. \nA Progressive Theater Experience in Downtown SpearfishSeptember 20 & 27 at 6:00 PM \nPresented by The Matthews Opera House & Arts Center \n\nWhat is Theater on the Run?\nTheater on the Run is not your typical night at the theater. This progressive performance takes you through downtown Spearfish\, where you’ll visit different local businesses. At each location\, enjoy a short play performed by local actors—each with its own flair\, humor\, and drama. TOTR is a fun a unique way to experience theater\, which has made it one of our most popular events each year. A limited number of tickets are available\, and the event has quickly sold out since 2012\, so make sure to get yours early. This event is one you won’t want to miss! Tickets are only sold in The Matthews Gallery or online and must be purchased in advance. The participating venues are NOT selling tickets.  \nA special Theater Running in Place performance will be held at the Opera House on Sunday\, September 28th at 2 pm\, where all acts will be performed on one stage.  \nTickets\n\n\n$40 per person \n\n\nLimited to 104 tickets per night (4 groups of 26) – these sell out fast! \n\n\nOn sale starting August 18\, 2025 \n\n\nVenue Lineup\nYour night will start at The Matthews Opera House\, where you’ll receive your program and route. From there\, four separate groups will be led to unique downtown locations\, each hosting a one-act play. \n2025 Venue Partners: Blakcbird Espresso\, Henry’s Books\, Common Grounds\, Studio 621\, Good Earth\, St. Vincent De Paul\, Jitter Joint\, Engel & Volkers. \nGroup Info & Accessibility\n\nIf attending the performance with a group\, we recommend purchasing all tickets in one transaction to ensure seats are available to accommodate the entire party. If you must purchase them separately\, please pay careful attention to your “starting” location to make sure the whole party “starts their run” in the same venue.
