DESCRIPTION:Join us on March 13 from 5-7pm for the Closing Reception of the Ink & Imagination exhibit in the Gallery at the Matthews as we honor 20 years of art\, expression\, and community connection. \nFor two decades\, this gallery has been more than a room filled with artwork. It has been a gathering place where emerging and established artists found their voice\, where bold ideas were welcomed\, and where conversations unfolded between neighbors standing shoulder to shoulder. The walls have carried thousands of stories\, from first exhibitions to celebrated retrospectives\, each one contributing to the creative heartbeat of Spearfish. \nThis reception is both a meaningful farewell to this chapter of the space and a celebration of everything it has made possible. We invite artists\, supporters\, volunteers\, and friends to come share memories\, reconnect\, and reflect on the impact the gallery has had on our community. \nAt the same time\, we look forward with optimism and renewed commitment. The visual arts program at the Matthews continues to grow and evolve\, and our dedication to supporting local artists remains strong.
