DESCRIPTION:Community theatre is at it again at the Matthews! Join us for An Iliad by Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare. This captivating drama\, based on Homer’s epic and translated by Robert Fagles\, An Iliad stars a single actor who evokes a whole host of characters as he tells a timeless story of adventure\, war\, and heartbreak.  \nThe production opens on Friday\, February 10 at 7 pm. Additional performances are scheduled for February 11\, 17 & 18 at 7 pm with matinee performances at 2 pm on February 12 & 19. \nA cash bar serving wine\, cold beer\, and soda will be available. Popcorn is available by donation. \nPlot\nIt’s a story you only think you know. In this thrilling rendition of Homer’s epic poem\, a war-weary poet is doomed to tell a tale of blood\, bravery and battle. He is fated to tell this story throughout history\, perhaps to make us understand\, perhaps to make us stop.
