SUMMARY:THEATER ON THE RUN 2024
DESCRIPTION:WHO: Come one\, Come all enjoy our Community this Fall! \nWHAT: Theater on the Run \nWHERE:  Theater on the Run begins in the Matthews Theatre\, and then the four different groups will venture to different locations. After each group has enjoyed a 15-20 minute play\, the audience rotates to the next location to view the next production. This will continue until the finale\, where all four groups will meet back the Matthews Opera House for the last show. \nWHEN: September 7 & 14\, 6:00 – 9:00 pm \nWHY: Community\, Connection\, and Creativity? Why NOT? \nHOW:  How does Theater on the Run (TOTR) work? \n TOTR is a fun and unique way to experience theater which has made it one of our most popular events each year. A limited amount of tickets are available and the event has quickly sold out since 2012\, so make sure to get them early. This event is one you won’t want to miss! Tickets are only sold in The Matthews art gallery or online and must be purchased in advance. The participating venues are NOT selling tickets. \nEach venue will have beverages for sale\, with some offering adult and some offering non-adult beverages. Appetizers are included in the cost of the ticket. \n  \n   A sporting chance: \n         Ticket sales open August 15 at 10 am. This will be strictly enforced. Tickets sell out quickly and we want to ensure every patron has an equal opportunity to get theirs.  \n  \n  A little advice for groups: \n         If attending the performance with a group\, we recommend purchasing all tickets in one transaction to ensure seats are available to accommodate the entire party. If you must purchase them separately\, please pay careful attention to your “starting” location to make sure the whole party “starts their run” in the same venue. Due to seating limitations\, we are unable to make changes once your purchase is complete. \n  \n  Only 104 tickets per evening!\n         We have only 104 tickets each for date for a total of 208 tickets. All tickets are $40. The ticket includes the show and appetizers that are provided by all of the participating downtown venues  Drinks are available at many of the venues\, for an addition cost (proceeds go directly to the venue). \n\nTHE SHOWS THAT WILL HAVE US ON OUR TOES \n“ALMOST MAIN” by John Cariani Directors: Charlotte Fladmoe\, Matt Woodard\, Cami Dohman\, Lisa Myhre\, Shirlene Joseph\nA woman carries her heart\, broken into nineteen pieces\, in a small paper bag. A man shrinks to half his former size\, after losing hope in love. A couple keep the love they have given each other in large red bags\, or compress the mass into the size of a diamond. These playful and surreal experiences are commonplace in the world of John Cariani’s Almost\, Maine\, where on one deeply cold and magical Midwinter Night\, the citizens of Almost — not organized enough for a town\, too populated for a wilderness — experience the life-altering power of the human heart. Relationships end\, begin\, or change beyond recognition\, as strangers become friends\, friends become lovers\, and lovers turn into strangers. Propelled by the mystical energy of the aurora borealis and populated with characters who are humorous\, plain-spoken\, thoughtful\, and sincere\, Almost\, Maine is a series of loosely connected tales about love\, each with a compelling couple at its center\, each with its own touch of sorcery. \n  \nSaturday\, Sept. 7th \n\n\n\nVenue\nDirector\nScene / Performers\nDocent\n\n\nMOH \nTheater\nMatt \nWoodard\nPrologue \nJim Huff/ Pam Wagner\n\n\n\nGallery\nCharlotte \nDougherty\nHer Heart \nShelby & Chris Ewert\nKatie Hood\n\n\nSt. Vincent’s\nMelita \nQuinonez\nSad And Glad \nJohn Eisenbraun /Lisa Jung /Caroline McVey\nJane Holstein\n\n\nBlackbird\nLisa \nMyher\nGetting It Back \nSrephanie Bussiere / Gideon Gilger\nMitch Mechaley\n\n\nEngle-Volker\nMatt \nWoodard\nSeeing the Thing \nAmy & Travis Ruff\nJulia O’Neil-King\n\n\nMOH-Theater\nCami \nDohman\nStory of Hope \nLynn Pederson/Bruce Woodard\n\n\n\nMOH \nTheater\nMatt \nWoodard\nEpilogue \nJim Huff/ Pam Wagner\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n  \nSaturday\, Sep. 14th \n\n\n\nVenue\nDirector\nScene / Performers\nDocent\n\n\nMOH \nTheater\nMatt \nWoodard\nPrologue \nJim Huff/ Pam Wagner\n\n\n\nCommon Grounds\nCharlotte \nDougherty\nHer Heart \nShelby & Chris Ewert\nDennis Walkins\n\n\nJitter Joint\nMelita \nQuinonez\nSad And Glad \nJohn Eisenbraun /Lisa Jung /Caroline Mc Vey\nJane Holstein\n\n\nGood Earth\nLisa \nMyher\nGetting It Back \nSrephanie Bussiere / Gideon Gilger\nSandi Nauman\n\n\n621\nMatt \nWoodard\nSeeing the Thing \nAmy & Travis Ruff\nMelissa & Jeremy Barnett\n\n\nMOH-Theater\nCami \nDohman\nStory of Hope \nLynn Pederson/Bruce Woodard\n\n\n\nMOH \nTheater\nMatt \nWoodard\nEpilogue \nJim Huff/ Pam Wagner\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n\nA SHOW THAT HAS US ON THE GO (LITERALLY)!\nWhat exactly is Theater on the Run (TOTR?): The Matthews is excited to enter the 13th year of Theater on the Run! Think of it as progressive theater.
