SUMMARY:Second Saturday Song Circle
DESCRIPTION:Jam Date: February 10 at 12:30 pm\nat the Matthews Opera House \nWhat is a Jam?\nMatthews Opera House & Arts Center is proud to host the Second Saturday Song Circle\, open to bluegrass and old-time folk musicians. These “jams” are set aside for string instrument players who want to share songs\, make new friends\, and enjoy a casual afternoon of string band music. They are perfect for musicians who have been playing solo and want to get used to playing in a group setting; those who have just learned how to play and want to play with others; those who have instruments that have been gathering dust for a “few” years; experienced players who are trying out playing instruments other than their primary instrument; and\, people who are comfortable playing their instrument but want to become more comfortable leading a song. \nEach session opens the floor for musicians to lead their favorite bluegrass tunes and folk music\, backed up by the other pickers in the gathering. Simple tunes are always popular!  ALL are welcome to join the circle for an afternoon of playing classic grass and folk favorites. \nSecond Saturday Song Circle is a free event hosted by Matthews Opera House & Arts Center and held in the theater on the second Saturday of each month from 12:30-2:30 pm. Musicians must bring their own instruments.
