DESCRIPTION:Grab your comfiest PJs and head on down to the Matthews Opera House on December 11 for our Bad Movie Night – Holiday Pajama Party! We will be watching the incredible (and incredibly bad) cult classic “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” in our historic theater. Evening festivities will include lots of popcorn (included in price of admission) and hilarious commentary by our “Mystery Santa Theatre” Elves. Pizza\, beverages\, and alcohol will be available for purchase throughout the evening. \nThis is a fundraiser for the Matthews Opera House\, so don’t miss your chance to support a GREAT cause just by watching a BAD movie. \nBring your friends\, bring your date\, bring your family–or just come by yourself. It’s going to be a blast! \nSuggested attendee age of 14 or older\, but all ages are permitted with parental discretion \nAbout “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians”\nMartian ruler Kimar (Leonard Hicks) is upset that the children of Mars are lazy and under the influence of too much pop culture from Earth. They are obsessed with the planet’s television programs and don’t want to do much of anything. In an attempt to get the kids peppy again\, Kimar orders the kidnapping of Santa Claus (John Call)\, hoping that the jolly old toymaker will know how to cheer the children up again.
